Incredible Performances

Summerhayes Fisheries – Match Recap

Our recent match at Summerhayes Fisheries delivered a fantastic day of junior angling, with impressive weights and some nail-biting finishes in both the Cadet and Junior sections. The weather held, the fish were feeding, and our young anglers gave it everything from the first whistle to the final weigh-in.

Cadets: Learning, Focus & Close Competition

The Cadets section was a showcase of focus and hard work. Each angler displayed patience and skill, working tirelessly for every fish landed. It was great to see them trying out different bait options, from classic maggots to corn and luncheon meat – all while keeping their concentration levels high throughout the session.

  • 🥇 George came out on top with a superb net of 15lb, showing excellent consistency throughout the match.
  • 🥈 Barnaby wasn’t far behind, weighing in 14lb 10oz – just 6oz separating the top two!
  • 🥉 Oliver rounded out the podium with 5lb 11oz, a great result in a very competitive group.

These young anglers are developing brilliantly – we’re so proud of their progression and sportsmanship.

Juniors: Big Weights & Tactical Thinking

The Junior section brought some serious weight to the scales and tactical choices paid off in a big way. With a mix of feeder fishing and pole work, the top three all made smart bait and method decisions.

  • 🥇 Freddie secured the win with 32lb 14oz, fishing the feeder method to perfection.
  • 🥈 McKenzie was hot on his heels with 31lb 14oz, catching well at 13 metres on the pole and fishing meat all day.
  • 🥉 Ava claimed third with 16lb 2oz, mixing it up between feeder and pole, with most of her weight coming from the feeder line.

Each junior showed a high level of skill and understanding, making for a closely fought and entertaining match.
