🎣 Junior Match 1 – The Sedges Fishery, Canal Lake (28th March 2026)

 Our first match of the Somerset Youth Angling Club 2026 season takes us to one of the county’s favourite venues — The Sedges Fishery in Bridgwater, fishing on the popular Canal Lake. Known for its reliable sport, friendly atmosphere, and excellent pegs for juniors, The Sedges always delivers exciting and fair competition for all young anglers.

This event is open to Cadets and Juniors and will count towards the Young Anglers League points table, so every fish could make the difference! Whether you’re targeting F1s, carp, bream, or skimmers, Canal Lake promises plenty of bites and the chance to test your skills against some of Somerset’s best up-and-coming anglers.

Typical catches include F1s, carp, roach, skimmers, and the odd tench, providing constant action throughout the day.

Its easy access and tidy banks make it one of the most junior-friendly fisheries in Somerset, and a great place for parents and families to watch and support.

With designated safe fishing areas, easy access to the water, and knowledgeable staff on hand to provide guidance and tips, The Sedges offers a supportive and fun environment for children to learn and enjoy fishing.
