The Somerset Youth Angling Club Junior Series concludes the 2026 season with a very special event — the John Proctor Memorial Match at Summerhayes Fisheries in Bridgwater. This annual match is held in memory of a much-loved supporter of junior angling and has become one of the most meaningful fixtures in our calendar.
Open to all Cadets and Juniors, this is Match 7 of the 2026 SYAC Junior League, bringing together fun, competition, and community spirit to celebrate the end of another fantastic season.
Summerhayes Fisheries is well known for its friendly atmosphere and brilliant sport. Anglers can expect a great day’s fishing with plenty of carp, skimmers, roach, and F1s to keep them busy throughout the match.

At Summerhayes Fisheries, we offer a fantastic opportunity for young anglers to learn and enjoy fishing through our dedicated Junior Fishing Club! Held every Wednesday evening from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, this club is the perfect place for children to develop their fishing skills in a fun and supportive environment. Our qualified coaches provide expert guidance, teaching essential techniques and helping kids build confidence on the water. With access to our well-stocked lakes and a range of activities designed for all skill levels, Summerhayes Fisheries ensures that every session is both educational and enjoyable.
